Looking for good truck driving jobs?

Where all the good truck driving jobs in Florida have gone?
Only a year or so ago, it was easy in my state – Florida, to find employment with a reputable trucking company that paid at least 44 cent a mile, about $6,300 a month. That’s right, although I only have a CDL class-A, and Tanker & Hazmat endorsements, with just 3 years OTE. I had to leave this job in December last year, due to some family issues. Now, I can’t find anything that pays near this kind of money.

In February, there was an oportunity for me to drive a 24ft truck with a sleeper, between Miami and Chicago. However, I couldn’t find a partner – yes, it takes 2 drivers. So, I’m still searching, taking some local truck driving jobs meantime.
And no, I don’t believe those job ads, that promise more than 50 cents a mile and $2,000 dollars a week.

When somebody tells me that I can be making up to $95,000 a year, and be home every day, I  run. Been there, done that – the truth is far less glossy. You’ll be required to invest your own money (usually to buy your own truck) before being accepted by one of those transport companies. So, I’m still searching…
